What are the benefits and challenges of having a collective religious identity in a multicultural society?

I think it would be a benefit because then there would be more people around you supporting your ideas. A challenge would be that that isn't how the world works and that wouldn't be possible in places like the US.

The United States should embrace a multi-cultural identity, since the beginning of the colonization of America, The United States has always fought for religious freedom.
