If someone were to have compassion and understand someone else's point of view, I believe it would make things mildly better for us all. We are on the brink of a civil war between Democrats and Republicans all because they disagree. If both sides could stop arguing, we would have a kinder society.

If compassion were as highly regarded as profit or success in societal norms, there would likely be several profound and positive changes in various aspects of society.
