How would society change if every occupation was valued equally, regardless of its economic impact?
Society would change by having more issues because if someone is putting less effort into something and they mess up they are still getting payed the same amount of money as another worker in that same area that is just as better.

The presence of equality with regards to the value attributed to each occupation does not imply the absence of competition within an occupation.

I don't believe someone should be getting paid for not doing their job correctly, the answer presents the idea of being ok with laziness, and poor work ethics. Hard workers deserve to be paid better than colleagues that are lazy.
