Can small daily actions create a significant change in society over time?

 @9JDHFJB from Alabama answered…4mos4MO

Yes, and we have to be mindful of systemic inequities that prevent many citizens from participating

 @9JGBF6J from Colorado disagreed…4mos4MO

Small actions can change anything over time, but systemic inequality is a terrible metric and isn’t happening. Everyone is in control of their own fate.

 @9JDJNCD from Nebraska answered…4mos4MO

Of course! I think a little goes a long way! It’s one thing to do something repeatedly but when others take notice and adopt this behavior themselves, that’s where it takes off. Take kindness for example. Having the basic human decency to do things like being sincerely and genuinely polite and considerate of those around you lets them feel better about you and their day. What trait do you possess that you feel improves your community, and how do you use it?

 @9KNC62V from Utah answered…2mos2MO

I possess the trait to research how the government works and look into the candidates in an election before I vote for them, which I think helps me make more informed decisions about the people I vote for.

 @9KNBPKPRepublican from Minnesota answered…2mos2MO

less governmet control in all perspectives gives more power to the people which is exactly what the founding fathers intended. i think the streets should be more based on the concept **** around and find out between citezens and less about government involvement.

Can individual responsibility have a greater impact on society than governmental policies?

 @9KZM3K2Independent from Maine answered…2mos2MO

yes, I think when individuals are more involved in community/civic events they are more likely to educate themselves and think of society as a whole and not just themselves

 @9L5QX97Independent from Hawaii disagreed…2mos2MO

Society has a green light to saying whatever they want now. Dumb ideas do exist and a lot people in a community have them. They will not agree on anything.

 @9KZP75RIndependent from Kentucky answered…2mos2MO

Yes, individuals should be responsible for contributing towards social reform, government policies are only there if people follow them.

 @9KZM6SB from Pennsylvania answered…2mos2MO

Yes, I believe that individuals have the ability to make a greater impact on society than governmental policies. I feel like it depends on the unity of individuals and our strength as a community.

What role does honesty play in building a strong community?

 @9H9GL2Lfrom Washington answered…6mos6MO

Honesty has no role in building a 'strong' community, merely a moral and accountable community. Lies are often more emotionally convincing than heartless truths, and, although one doubtless cannot have a strong community without rules, if the rules do not involve honesty, civic virtue can simply be whatever a leader, or select committee needs it to be to keep the community strong. However, I would much rather live in an honest community.

 @9H9CZT3 from Washington commented…6mos6MO

you must build trust within a community, to gain trust you must be honest.

Does prioritizing your family over the community make you less virtuous?

Prioritizing family over the community doesn't make you less virtuous because you have more understanding and familiar with family than the community which make you treat your family values before others.

When faced with injustice, how do you decide whether to speak up or remain silent?

 @9JP89RC from Texas answered…3mos3MO

I speak up, because if it's wrong and we don't speak up it'll never change

 @9JP6WXL from Utah answered…3mos3MO

If someone had truly done something wrong then you speak up. If it is something harmful to themselves or another person it is considered truly bad. If it's based on survival and isn't harmful, it isn't bad to remain silent.
